House Rules for Visitors
These terms set out the basic understanding between On The Spot Magazine and everyone who reads it. They are written to be read, not skimmed past, so we have kept them as short and clear as we could. Reading or using the magazine means you agree to them.
What the magazine offers
On The Spot Magazine publishes general ideas about free time: games, gatherings, decorating, day trips, entertainment and everyday tips. The articles are meant to inspire and to help you plan. They are not tailored to your circumstances, and they are not professional advice of any kind.
Use your own judgement
Weekend plans involve real places, real people and real weather. Before acting on anything you read here, please consider:
- Safety: outdoor games, open flames, ladders, water and long journeys all carry some risk. Supervise children and adapt activities to the people taking part.
- Local rules: parks, beaches, venues and public spaces have their own regulations on barbecues, alcohol, music, drones and gatherings. Check them before you go.
- Opening times and availability: attractions, transport and services change their schedules. Confirm details directly with them.
- Allergies and food safety: when cooking or catering for others, take guests' needs seriously and keep food at sensible temperatures.
We take care to write accurately, but we cannot guarantee that every detail is complete or current, and we are not responsible for loss, injury or disappointment arising from the use of our articles.
Sharing and reusing our articles
The text, layout and graphics on this site belong to On The Spot Magazine or are used with permission. You are welcome to:
- read our articles, print them or keep copies for private use;
- share links to any page;
- quote a few lines, as long as a visible link leads back to the source page.
Please do not republish whole articles, present our writing as your own, or use it in commercial products without asking us first.
Links to other websites
Some articles link to or mention other websites, products or businesses. A mention is there because it seemed useful in context; it is not a guarantee of quality, safety or availability. We have no control over those sites and are not responsible for their content or practices.
Mistakes and changes
If you notice something that looks wrong, please tell us. Our process for fixing errors is described on Fixing Mistakes Openly. We may update, rewrite or remove articles at any time, and we may revise these terms when the site changes. Whatever appears on this page at the time you read it is the version in force.
Privacy and cookies
How we treat personal data is explained in How We Handle Data, and our single storage entry is described in The Small Print on Cookies.
